AFRICAN RE-CREATION OF WESTERN IMPRESSIONS LAUNCHED IN NAIROBI


 Kenya  film makers  had  been  advised  to  transform best  selling  books  into   film in  order  to  make  impact  on  local  and international  scene in  stead  of  coping  Western  traditional.
 Speaking  during  the launch  of  anew  book African  Re Creation of Western Impressions by  Kenyatta University  don Rachael  Ndianga and  German  Culture  Center in  Nairobi  Prof  Kimani  Njugu   said  time had  come  for  Kenyan  film makers  to  become  creative with  the major  objective  of  moving  forward  with  other  film  makers.
He  pointed  out  that  books  like Devil on the Cross Grain of  Wheat  and  Meja  Mwangi  books  should  be turned  into  films for   better  understanding.
Prof  Njugu pointed  out  that  Nigerians area ahead  of   us  because they  are  creative  while  most  of  their  films  are based on  there  traditions.
The news book  African   Re- Creation  of  Western Impressions  is   about the history  of  film making  in  Kenya and  is  very  useful  for both film  makers and  Scholars
