  THIRD EDITION OF MAKTABA AWARD 21ST SEPTEMBER

The third edition of Kenya Library Association KLA  will be held next month  on 21st September at the place to be announced later.
The events is stage by Kenya Libray Association Jomo Kenyatta Foundation and German Culture Center  with the major objective of motivating them
 The national award commonly known as Makutaba. Award seeks to recognize excellence in provision of the Library and information service in the Country as far as reading culture is concern.
The competition is open to Libraries in Kenya and they stand to a chance to win the award and the award is is the lonely one in Africa.
 Participating Libraries are assessed in the following area Currency diversity and relevance of the Li bray collection innovation and creativity collection preservation and dissemination of content and indigenous knowledge among others
 Multicultural Library service, Networking with other Libraries  and information service providers.
Last years events was held at the National Museum of Kenya and attracted numerous Libraries and information service providers
This years events had attracted numerous participants than last  years something  which vividly proved that the events is useful.
 Other  suppoters of the events apart from JKF and Goethe Institut Radio Africa Group had teamed up with them.
