85TH EDITION OF LOLA KENYA SCREEN ON AT GERMANA CULTURE CENTER NAIROBI

The 85th Lola Kenya Screen film forum (LKSff) for April takes place at Goethe-Institut in Nairobi on Monday, 27.04.15 at 5.45 PM. We invite you to this screening, discussion and networking meeting.

Being screened and discussed shall be TOGETHER, film set in rural Kenya and realised by largely self-trained youth led by Roger James of Gilgil; STOP THE NOISE, a seven-minute film made by youth during a filmmaking workshop in the Ghanaian capital, Accra; and KISWAHILI SAVES THE DAY, a seven-minute fictional film directed by 10-year-old Derek David Ngarapi of Tanzania and produced by Lola Kenya Screen in 2014.

The meeting shall be held in the library lounge on the first floor of Maendeleo House as the auditorium is undergoing renovation. I strongly advise that you arrive at Goethe-Institut by 5.45PM to ensure that security and administrative matters do not delay the meeting that starts at exactly 6.00PM.

Please ensure you sign the Attendance Register as you come in as a LEGAL and administrative requirement. That not only protects you but also ensures that you are kept abreast of the developments in the creative and cultural sector of Kenya and eastern Africa by the Directorate of Lola Kenya Screen.

LKSff is a specialised film screening, discussion and networking forum for practitioners in the eastern Africa audiovisual media sector. It is aimed at critiquing, encouraging and exploring ways of integrating film production in Kenya and eastern Africa with other socio-cultural and economic sectors in order to come up with a vibrant film industry. LKSFF is often one of the first places where new films can be seen and new talent spotted.

LKSff is the initiative of ComMattersKenya/ArtMatters.
Info in conjunction with Goethe-Institut in Kenya that holds every last Monday of the month throughout the year.
