79 Lola Kenya Screen film forum on September 29 at German Culture Center Nairobi

79th Lola Kenya Screen film forum

Lola Kenya Screen invites you to its 79th monthly film screening, discussion and networking platform at Goethe-Institut on September 29, 2014 at 6.00PM.

Being screened and discussed shall be BEAUTIFUL TREE, SEVERED ROOTS, a documentary by Kenya-born, US-based Kenny Iki Mann that examines humanism and multi-culturalism in a post-modern world.

Shot in Kenya, Poland and Romania, the film is set against the backdrop of the lives of her parents—Igor and Erica Mann—and their family between the MAU MAU uprising of 1952 and Independence in 1963.

Mann shall be in the house to introduce her 70-minute film and interact with the audience.

Please keep time as the screening begins at 6:00PM on the dot as the film is twice the length of the typical LKSff film.

To facilitate ample time for screening, discussion and networking, we request you to please be seated in the auditorium by 5.45PM at the latest.

The initiative of ComMattersKenya in collaboration with Goethe-Institut, LKSff is aimed at critiquing, encouraging and exploring ways of integrating film production in Kenya and eastern Africa with other socio-cultural and economic sectors in order to come up with a vibrant film industry. LKSff is often one of the first places where new films can be seen and new talent spotted.
