MKU to start radio station

Mt Kenya University will soon launch its own radio station according to its VC Prof Stanley Waudo.
Speaking during the launch of the newly purchased broadcast equipment
Prof Waudo said the station will empower there journalist students ready
for market
He pointed out that the equipment worth over Ksh
15 million its of its kind in the Country and appealed to MKU students
to take there work seriously adding that modern education needs
practical students who will become job creators but not job seekers
The guest of honor during the colorful ceremony held at Thika campus was KBC MD Waithaka Wahenya among others.
In
his speech Wahenya said that Kenya broadcasting will go digital in few
days coming and appealed to media owners to get ready for the new format
which will also provide job for University students taking journalism
He pointed out that KBC has already over 45 channels to be dished out for numerous media houses.
At
the same time announced that the government will start TV station
in over 47 Counties around the Country adding that University students
will no-longer have problems after there studies as it had been in the
past
While praising MKU for buying modern equipment which is a full
studio he appealed to other University to do the same in order to
produce quality students ready for market adding that KBC is ready to
give them practical work will still in University.
The KBC boss noted that KBC like any other station will employe
the best students from local universities without discrimination
