KENYA RICH HERITAGE BEING PROTECTED BY UNNESCO


Kenya is  astate member of  the 2003 UNESCO convention for the  safeguarding of the intangible cultural heritage having rectified it  in October 2007
 Apart from thatKenya  is the  first  Country in Africa to  host a successful 5th session of  the  inter governmental committee meeting on  intangible cultural Heritage in  November 2010 which was attended by numerous cultural  experts  from  around  the  World.
The meetinmg was held  at  Kenyatta  international  Conference  Center K.I.C.C  in Nairobi and  chaired  by P.S  Ministry of  state  for  culture and  National  Heritage  Dr Jacob Ole Miasron.
In  Kenya the 2003 UNNESCO convention is  under the  Department  of cultural in  the Ministry of  state for national  heritage
Kenya is   among  the  Countries  in  Africa with  rich  cultural  heritage  eg  Masaai  and Mijikenda  to  name  few.
