VIHIGA CULTURAL FESTIVAL SOCIETY ELDERS TO PAY TRIBUTE TO DRKIMOLI AND PROF IMBUGA
Vihiga Cultural Festival Society will pay special tribute to Dr A. Kimoli and Prof Francis Imbuga before the annual Vihiga Cultural Festival to be held on 26 December.
The elders will visit the home of Dr Kimoli and Prof Francis Imbuga because they were active and founder members of Vihiga Cultural Festival which is the biggest events in Western Kenya.
While at there homes they will held special prayer at there graveside according to Maragoli traditions.
According to Vihiga Cultural Society the elders visit the home of any members who passed away during the year before helding the annual festival.
Later the elders will visit Muugoma the scared rock of South Maragoli which is believed to be the visit home of the Maragoli who are the sub tribe of Luhya of Western Kenya
While at the cave they wil light fire using tree branches and roast bananas and contact players while facing East after doing so they will be free to host the annual Vihiga Cultural Festival at Mbale town on December 26
According to top Maragoli mythologist Joseph Otiende who is also the first Kenyan Minister of Education the visit to Muungoma is very important because the Maragoli pay tribute to there great grandfather
Any body with more than two wives and those who had love affairs with other peoples wives are not allowed to enter Muungoma because the results is death
