WRITER MWANGI GICHERU PASS OWN AT 68

  Kenya book lovers and readers  mourn top pop literature writer the late  writer Mwangi Gicheru who dies recently.

Lead by  Longhorn publishers who announced the death they termed they termed the late Mwangi as the father of pop literature in Kenya who contribution cannot be forgotten in  a short awhile

 His passing on was announced on May 6 by his publisher and was  68 years old.

 Mwangi rose to the fame in 70s when    publishing was for those with University education like Ngugi wa Thiong among others.

His first publication was Ivory Merchant 1976 other books included  Double Cross  Across the Bridge among others  which are still  still on the market.

 Like Mejia Mwangi his books were rejected by educationist because he did not have University education

By  the time of his death  he was  planning to turn some of his books into  film with the major objective of attracting youth readers of the current generation
