Mt Kenya University Pro.Chancellor Prof George Eshiwani wants research contacted on the effect of private tuition to students preparing for examination in Kenya
He appealed to Minister of Education Mutula Kalonzo to trade well on the matter because they are likely going to affect examination results early next year because it is away of preparing students for examination.
The Prof Made the remark during the official launching of the Mt Kenya University seven year research strategic plan at the Nairobi Serena Hotel on Friday 24 August 2012
Prof Eshiwani instead advised Mr Mutula Kilonzo to allow private tuition to continue for this year and burn it in Jan when the Schools open in order to avoid shame during the forthcoming examination results
He warns that unless Minister of Education Mutula Kalonzo trade well there will be disaster during exam announcement because teachers had there own secrets during tuition and yet nobody had not contacted research on its effects to students.
Even though some parents had complain that some teachers are confusing students during private tuition research needs to be conducted pointed out Eshiwani who is the former Kenyatta University Vc.
Instead he appealed to both Private and Public Universities to contact research on the effect of tuition to its students so that both Parents and Ministry of Education can easily understand each other
Since his announcement on the ban of tuition in School there had been war of wards between teachers, parents and the Minister withMutula threatening to take action who went ahead wittution.
On Friday 24 August the Minister warns Makini School and Riara against contacting tuition during this School holidays and over the weekend because students needs to have time with there parents and also
