kenya art work stranded in Italy 8 years after exhibition

Local artist and Scholars had appealed to the government through Ministry of Sports Culture and Heritage to help them return their stranded art work in Italy.
Lead by Dr Elkana Ongesa said there work  had been stranded in  Italy for over 8 years since they  took part in  art exhibition in Cortana during President Mwai Kibaki regime
Speaking recently in Nairobi at Nairobi Gallery Dr Elkana said that there art work had now been removed to Rome after staying at Cortana as lost paintings and appealed to the government to take action because they fear that there great work may got lost
They blamed Dpt of Culture held by then S, Anami as director who is now Mp for Shinyalu for not bothering to bring back the art work given that only  government officers accompany the art work instead of artist.
To make the matter  graveyard some of the officers and artist who took part in the exhibition co festivals in Cortana are dead among them former director the late G, Gacheru among others and it will be difficult to trace them  they claims,
Effort to contact  Silverse Anami who was the director and currently Sinyalu Mp   was fruitless being  politicians
According to Dr Elkana the art work stranded in  Italy worth millions of shillings on international  market.
