LIONS CLUB FOUNDER MELVIN JONES BIRTH DAY MARKED



Lions over the world  today marked birth day of its founder Melvin Jones who was born on January 13 1879
In Kenya Lion club teamed up with culture writer turned Urban farming promoter  Francis Ilahaka  in planting tree at Shadrack Kimalei in Nairobi
 Couple of Lions were lead by Lion Lawi Sultan Njeremani and members of Railway line Vegetable garden in Nairobi
During the clourful ceremony in which  Lions pay tribute to the late Jones from 1879 to 1961 only fruits trees were planted at the School compound in Ngumo to be used by School kids.
The trees were donated by Railwayline garden with the major objective of promoting eating of vegetables  and pure organic fruits free from chemicals.
Jones commemoration also marks the official launch of Operation Nairobi green in support of Dr Kedero grass which  will so Lion club teaming up with the writer Ilahaka in planting fruits trees in School around the city under feeding the hungry.
 It has been established that majority of Schools kids in the city consumes dry beans and maize and that is why Lions wants to support the programmer by planting fruits tree and establishing  vegetables garden in schools.
 Most city Schools in Nairobi has land  which are idle which lion wants to plant fruits tree and establish school garden like in other Countries around the World in which School kids generate income from fruits under the support of  Lions.
 Speaker after speaker praised the late Jones as the father of social who brought together great businessmen together under Lion with the major objective of supporting the needs .
 They call upon local businessmen in the Country to come together and support the poor and the needs through social gathering by joining  the Lion club
  Kids who teamed up with the Lions praised Lion club for planting fruits trees given that fruits are becoming to expensive for them at the local market.
  Later School kids divide them selves into groups in order to take care of the fruits which they will be watering during this dry season in Nairobi.
