NAIROBI DAM RECEIVED KSH 18 MILLION FROM BELGIUM EMABSSY


 Nairobi dam rehabilitation  committee  had received boost of over Ksh 18 million shillings from Belgium government through its Embassy in Nairobi
 The announcement was made early this week when Belgium envoy   Roxare Bilderling visited Nairobi dam 
 She said that government  is ready to help Kenyan government clean the badly polluted Nairobi dam  and  also promote Urban farming in the area with the high numbers of jobless youth.
The envoy was in the company of Nairobi County Minister for   Environment hon Evans Odiek and other officers who represented govern  Dr  Evans Kidero among others
 Bilderling noted that during the rehabilitation numerous youth in Kibera will be employed so that they can generate some incomes of there own adding that the residence will also get clean water given that the   badly polluted dam is dangerous to there h healthy .
 She pointed out that through Urban Farming youth in Kibera slum can generated income and also contribute to food security  by growing vegetables and fruits
 Later she was taken around Dam based Urban Farming project under the youth from the area.
 During the function Odiek announced that Nairobi County  government will put over
 Ksh 50 million in Nairobi Dam project adding that the dam used to be social events  venue in late 80s and 90s
