Hi,
We are privileged to invite you to the 68th monthly Lola Kenya Screen film screening, discussion and networking forum at Goethe-Institut on July 29, 2013 at 6.00PM. In focus shall be KUKU WA YELLOW (34'44''), a film touching on an urban young man's search for love and the hustles he goes through as he tries to fulfil the desire of his heart; getting a maiden to love him. Also lined up for screening and discussion is MALIKA (19'53''). This film also looks at another quest; that of a girl who is attempting to secure a brighter future despite the darkness enveloping her in the informal settlement she calls home. While the former is directed by Deejay Msalaba, the latter is the work of Gee Gilbert. LKSff is a specialised platform for practitioners in the eastern Africa audiovisual media sector. It is aimed at critiquing, encouraging and exploring ways of integrating film production in Kenya and eastern Africa with other socio-cultural and economic sectors in order to come up with a vibrant film industry. LKSff is often one of the first places where new films can be seen and new talent spotted. The initiative of ComMattersKenya/ArtMatters. Though LKSff is STRICTLY a ‘By-Invitation-Only’ event, it nevertheless welcomes anyone interested in attending it if they request an invitation by writing to lksff@lolakenyascreen.org or director@lolakenyascreen.org. On behalf of ComMattersKenya and Goethe-Institut, we thank you for your interest and continuing support to LKSff. | ||||||||||
