The
cabinet Secretary Ministry of Education Science and Technology Prof
Jacob T Kaimenyi has warns that government will not allow
radicalism and politics in education sector for the sake of
development
Speaking during the official launching of a publication on
incorporating culture in education for development at the Goethe
Institute in Nairobi Kaimenyi promised that the government is ready
to talk to teachers and educationalist but not on the street
He said that in order for the Country to over quality education
there must be order in the education sector with teachers showing good
example to both students and the society.
He took issue with
those claiming that the Country is offering low quality education but
instead promised that the state is using or means with the major
objective of producing job creators but not job seekers.
The social pillar of Kenya,s blueprint for development dubbed
Vision 2030 emphasizes investment in education and training,
mainstreaming of gender, children and social development as well as
support for the youth, sports and creative industries.
The ministry therefore takes a keen interest on matters relating
to improvement of education in the Country added the Prof Kaimenyi.
He
noted that his ministry supports this initiative to discuss the
importance of culture in education for sustainable development, On one
hand, we are cognizant of the fact that all the cultures of our
communities both oral and written, form the basis of our identity
and collective memory as a nation.
The book is ajoint project between a Kenyan, German Alumni
DENKFABRIK.Think Tank Project most contributors are Kenyans writers
and Scholars.
