Top Kikuyu writer Muthoni Likimani had been honored for his contribution in publishing Industry in the Country

The writer who  comes from Muranga was awarded during colorful function held over the weekend at Paa ya Paa Gallery and graced by  kenya Chief Justice Dr Willy Mutunga and dozen of writers University dons and Scholars

The events doubled  honoring elders in the arts was taged by Prof  Elizabeth Mazrui of Kenya University with assistance from Paa ya Paa of Dr  E Njau/

Speaking at the venue  Dr  Mutungi issued Kenyans that the government  appreciate the role played by artist in  development of the society adding that this can be useful if  artist can take there work seriously.

He pointed out that art is the lonely easy way  common man can express his inner feeling s without any problem.

Mutunga noted that for many years in African society and around the World art had been used in  education and informing  the society on numerous issues facing them among others.

He warns that apart from using  there talents the artist are likely going to take up the leadership of this Country in the years to come

The CJ  appealed to   civil savants to work for Kenyans without discrimination instead of saying they are busy or the time on weekend.

Speaking at the same venue  Prof Mazurui appealed to the government to honor Kenyans great writers who had contributed a lot to the development of this Country

While appealing to Prof Ngugi wa Thiong and Ali Mazurui to come back home  and contribute to nation building she said that the government is yet to take writers seriously like any others elders.

During  the function  Muthoni lanched her latets books  which were on the sale at Paa ya Paa which is the biggest art center in the Country.

 Elizabeth promised to honor numerous  writers in the years to come  as away of  giving them hope.
