MINISTRY BAN NON STUDENTS FROM SCRIPT WRITING FOR FESTIVALS IN KENYA
The annual Kenya Schools and Colleges drama festivals ends this week in Mombasa with numbers of items on the card.
Following the controversial over Butere girls play the Government had ban with effect non- students from producing and writing script for the students in order to promote creativity among the students
This means that students will have to write there own script during the annual events added the Ministry directive which had been welcomed by theater lovers around the Country.
In the past Schools had been paying experts to write script hence killing creativity in the Schools which had seen youth reproducing comedy produced 100 years back
According to Kenya theater history famous writers like the late Prof Francis Imbuga, writer Ngugi Wathiong start producing script while still in Schools
