FILM ON POKOT TRADITIONS TO CREATE AWARENESS ON GIRL CUT ATTRACT NAIROBIANS ON THE FIRST DAY

Majority of people  from Pokot  are  not well versed  with the new constitution on girl cut and its effect to the health of the victims
Even  with the new constitution  in place every year  numerous Schools going  girls  are forced  to marry  old men after under going mutilation  girl cut  which is very  painful
Speaking  in Nairobi  Alliance Francaise  French  Cultural Center   and  in West  Pokot during the official launching of anew film on girl cut titled Bloody of Woman respectively  social workers   Damaris  Kaperuar said  that creating  awareness about the danger of  girl cut is there major problematic
She  pointed out that  since majority of the old men and women  behind the barbaric customers  has no education  it is becoming graveyard to convince them about its effect  to the victims, adding that the new film will  create awareness both in the community, churches and in Schools
Present during the launching of the film which is based on Pokot traditions where representatives of Sentinelles from Kenya  and from Switzerland   and in Kenya.
During the launching ceremony  victims of forced  girl cut  and marriage explains to the house the problems they undergo during the process among others
The new  film  Blood  of Women  with sub titles  Rescuing the Wounded is produced by  Christien Lajoumand and supported by French Embassy in Nairobi  and the Embassy of Switzerland respectively with the major objective of creating awareness in community and in Schools
Since  the film is the first one  from West Pokot it will be used to create awareness both in Schools and  around the  Country because  girl cut is dangerous in the modern society
