DR H,CHAKAVA LEAD KENYANS IN MOURNING THE LATE ACHEBE
Kenyans lead by Dr Henry Chakava joins the World in mourning Nigerian top writer Chunua Achebe who passed away last Friday in Landon
Chakava who took over from Achebe as Heiman editor termed the late Achebe as the father of novelist in Africa whose contribution cannot be forgotten in a short awhile and appealed to the upcong writers to zoom from where Achebe left.
Apart from Chakava Kenya prime Minister Raila Odinga also mourned Achebe while the Sunday papers who dominated by the late Nigeria writers tribute.
Known by his famous book Things Fall Apart Achebe start publishing in 50s after shortly working with Nigerian broadcasting house.
Things Fall apart had since been translated into more than 50 languages and sold in millions than any other writer in this region.
During his visit in Kenya he toured Vihiga area which is the birth place of Dr Chakava and the late Prof Francis Imbuga.
The writer was involved in road accident in 90s leaving him on Wheel chair his other books included the Arrows of God, No longer at easy among others
