Farmers in Africa had something to be happy of following the publication of anew Handbook for  integrated soil fertility management
This handbook presents integrated soil fertility management ISFM as a key contributor to improving Africa's soil and crop productivity, especially for the main staples in the region that includes Maize, rice, millet and coffee which is the major cash crop
The Hand book which was launched in  Nairobi late last  year is  meant for training of extension workers on soil fertility management techniques in the Sub  Sahara Africa and for workers in rural development that would like to learn more about the principles of ISFM.
The handbook is also useful primer of ISFM for educationalist organization such as Universities and technical colleges and  other organization involved in the development of policy and  agriculture and   rural  development that need reference materilas on  ISFM techniques.
It is a creative publication on the subject which needs to be taken  seriously by both students, farmers and general readers
