PROF FRANCIS ILAMBUGA PLAYWRIGHT AWARD MOOTED

Former  Kenyatta  University  students and  dons plan  to   stage line  up  of  cultural  activities  in   honor of  the  late  playwright  Prof  Francis  Imbuga.
The  festival  to   be  held  next  year  2013  will  feature numerous  artistic  activities  among them play  staging  mainly  from  some  of  Prof  Imbuga  play  books  among  others
According  from  one  of  the  organizers  who  is  former Kenyatta    University  students who  passed  through  the  hands   of  Imbuga  they   will  move  around  the  Country including  Universities  with  the  major  objective  of  rising  funds  for  the  said  project
He  pointed  out  that  apart  from  staging  in  Universities  around  the  Country  other  activities will  be staged  at  the  social  halls  and    open  airs  given   that  Imbuga  was the  father  of acting  and  playwright  in  the  Country  whose contribution  to  development  of  theater  in  the  Country  cannot  be  forgotten  in  a short  awhile
The  festival  had  received  backing  from  Imbuga  friends,  workmate,  actors  and   dons  from  Kenyatta  University  and  outside  mostly   among  them  who  acted  together  with  the  late  University  don.
The  end  product of  the  festival  is  the  official  launching  of  Prof  Francis  Imbuga Playwright  award  which  will  be  the  first  of  the  kind  in  the  Country
Imbuga  who  passed  away    rcently  untill  his  death  was   Kenyatta  University  dons  having  published  numerous  books  among  the  Man  of  Kafira Betrayal .in  the  City  among  others.
