The  new  book which compiled  by  Permanent  Presidential  Music  Commission consist of  Kenya  leading  musicians  who  had  contributed  very    much  to  the  development  of   Kenya   music
According  to  the  book  which  is  the first  of  the  kind  to be published  in  Kenya musician  have contributed immensely to  the  development of  music  in the World ever  yet their contribution is   little  felt  since there  is no  documented literature on  and  about  them
The  example  is  the  famous    song  Malaika by the  late Fadhili Williams is  widely  known,  yet  people do  not   know who  the  composer is  and the historical path  he  went through to  produce such a hit that  has  been re  worked by   numerous   musicians both  locally   and   internationally.
There   is   even contention as to who the  original composer of  the song is,  the  confusion could  have resulted from  the  lack of research and  documented literature on  the musician in  particular and  Kenyan  musicians in  general  said  the  book.
Majority  of  Kenyans  reads  about  Europeans  musicians and  telling  them  about  local    talents  like  Daudi   Kabaka,    David  Amunga  and  others  is  like  a dream and  it  is   my  wish   that  the  book  is  likely going to  play  a great  role
It  is in  response to  those need that  the Permanent  Presidential  Music  Commission PPMC comes  out  with  such  wonderful    idea  of  coming  out  with  the book.
The  book  which  is  a must  reading  by  any   serious  Kenyan also  included other  musicians  like Kamaru Joseph,  G. Omollo the  late  Dr  Kimoli  to  name  few.
The  book  can  be  of  use  if  the  Ministry  of  education  can  recommend  it  in  our Schools  so  that   students     can  read it for  better   source from  PPMC  told media  in  Nairobi  that they   are  working  on  Vol 11  of  Kenyan  musicians
