LATE KENYA DIRECTOR OF CULTURE G, GATHERU PREPARED SPEECH READ ON HER BEHALF AT THE FUNCTION
The Kenya director of culture the Ms G. Gaheru who passed away last week was hard working lady who will be remembered in the history of performing art
Gaheru prepared speech for a function on the use of local languages before she died on Friday in Nairobi.
The speech was read on her behalf be Nairobi County director of Culture Mr C. Mululu during the official opening of one day workshop on the use of local languages at the Nyayo House in Nairobi.
In the speech the late Gatheru appealed to Kenyans to make use of local languages by using them both at home in School and place of work in order for this Country to push ahead adding that there is no Country in the World which can develop without culture value.
She promised that the government through department of culture will move ahead to promote local languages and other culture activities.
It was for the first time in Independence Kenya for the late government official speech to be read when waiting burial.
During the one day capacity building workshop members remains silent for her honor
