YOUNGER WRITERS TO FORM ASSOCIATION

Department   had embarked on promoting  and  marketing local writers on both local and  international scene
Speaking in Nairobi during  the just  ended  Nairobi  International  Book  fair the dept  officer Emily  Njeru said the dept plan to   mobilize local writers especially  those writing in  local  languages  so that  they can  get  published.
Speaking at  the dept   stand she  said Kenya is  a home  of talented writers and  artist who  needed to  be promoted on  both  local  and  international  scene because majority  of  them  cannot promote themselves  and  that  is  what  the ministry  is  up  to.
While calling local  writers to  contact the dept she  promised that they will continue to  take part at the annual  Nairobi International Book fair and  other  regional book  fairs.
During  this  year book fair  dept  of Culture  start  attracted numerous writers both  younger and established  writers
Every  year  the dept took  the responsibility of  selling writers books on there  behalf because majority of the cannot  afford  to  hire the stand.
Among the books which were on   the stand  were dictionaries and other  publication in  local  langauges  which  attracted  buyers.
Very soon the dept  will host series  of  workshop for  younger writers with  the major  objective  of  bringing them  together in  order to  move  forward.
