  MAGIC  GECHA ARTIST  ASSOCIATION EXHIBITION AT RAILWAY ART GALLERY.

Ngecha artist Association are staging ajoint art exhibition at the Kenya Railway Art Gallery in Nairobi
The untitled exhibition featuring there latest work was officially opened on Tuesday by  journalist turned art promoter and researcher M. Gacheru and attending  by numerous artist personalities and promoters.
The exhibition which had become among the major attraction activities in the city   is  about day to day activities in the modern  society ranging from poverty, politics economy among others.
In her opening remark Gacheru give vivid background of Gecha artist Association how it was started in 90s after getting support from the founder of Gallery Watatu the late Ruth  Schaffuner
According to her the money which was made to build morden art Center in Ngecha was  instead given to Kuona Trsut by greedy art promoters.
She pointed that  Kuona Trust was started by  money which was to be used in building art Center in Ngecha because majority of well known painters like award winning painter Brush, Muhandi. Kiare S. Wadu Foite and among others  comes from the magic village of Ngecha.
In his remark   Kenya Railway Museum curotar  M. Baraza promised that his firm will zoom to promote artist work in the Country on both local and international scene.
While appealing to local artist to use there talents in promoting Kenya Railway activities he said that  they will train Kenya Art Gallery  managers on culture management.
He added that art is the only easy way of recording history in the modern Society adding that Kenya Railway had rich history which needs to be recorded through art
The exhibition is the second to be held at the newly opened Kenya Railway Museum Art Gallery which is  among the biggest in Nairobi to date.
 Kenya is the only  Country in Africa with Railway Museum which is the center of   Kenya  history dating back to  1900 when the  line was constructed from Mombasa and so the development of major cities of Mombasa, Nairobi, Nakuru and  Kisumu.
 Among interesting work  at the ogoing exhibition included patriot of former Nairobi mayor Joe Akech and former opposition politician the late Jramongo Oginga Odinga  created by Ngecha artist Association Chairman Fredrick Kamau who also work at Kenya Railway Art Gallery.
 Also exhibiting  included Evanson Kangethe  showing the area locomotive  which used steam engine among others.
  Ngecha artist Association had great history given that majority of youth from the area are artist and every years they attract both art lovers tourist and art promoters
